Our second day in Boston we decided to do the famed "Freedom Trail" - which I (erroneously) thought would be a nice trail through shaded woods, rather than a grueling walk on cobblestone-paved roads through the city of Boston. It was actually fun to see the different sites, including the USS Constitution "Old Ironsides". Link is ready to set sail:
At the other end of the "Trail" was Boston Common; Boston's attempt at Central Park. (I have to say NY wins that one hands-down) Lincoln wanted to chase the pigeons around. Here he is planning his attack:
Then we went to Walden Pond. It was beautiful, but the unexpected thing was that now it is largely a beach/swim area - not quite what Thoreau had in mind, I'm guessing. Lincoln had fun playing in the sand.

Great pictures! I especially like the one of Lincoln with all the pigeons :) He is such a handsome little man.
What a little cutie.
Looks like a fun trip!
Will this next generation love history too? I love that dad Ryan is sharing with son Lincoln things which I am not sure son Ryan would have been patient with (constant smile) as dad Peter show him around the sites.
