We're Loving It
We are really enjoying being here in New Jersey. One of our favorite things to do is walk along this path overlooking the Hudson River and New York City. Just spectacular.

Link Luvs Rugs
Our apartment here has beautiful hardwood floors throughout the entire house, which is nice - it looks good, easier to clean, etc. But having a little guy that is running/crawling around all day chasing after toy cars and balls necessitated getting some rugs. Big thanks to my parents for the housewarming gift of the rug in our living room! Lincoln didn't want to unroll it, he was having so much fun.
Then with the help of the 'best Pottery Barn Kids consultant'(my mom) we picked this fun rug for Lincoln's room. He loved it so much that he was walking around on his hands and feet (picture a monkey) and rolling around on it, just to take in the beautiful feel of it.
Our big boy!

Living BIG in New York
Yesterday Lincoln and I went into the city for a fun-filled day. First we saw "Broadway in Bryant Park" which is where the current cast of several Broadway productions perform a few songs from their show. It was one of my favorite things to do last summer, and so I wanted to enjoy it again this year. Then we walked up 5th Avenue and gawked at all the expensive stores. Wouldn't it be amazing to just walk into say, Tiffany, or Gucci and buy whatever you wanted?? Ryan has started work and is pulling in a paycheck again, but not THAT big of a paycheck! Then we went into the famed FAO Schwartz store. Lincoln loved playing with all the toys on display, AND it was so nice and air-conditioned in there - we really could have stayed all day.
Of course he had to try dancing on the Giant Piano (channeling Tom Hanks in 'Big'). He was a little unsure of what to do at first, but then got the hang of it and just ran back and forth. And not to worry, we can actually purchase the piano for Link to use at home for a mere $250,000. (!!)

Lincoln's Date
So I know it may be a little early for Lincoln to start dating (16 months old today - wow!), but it is obvious that this little guy is a ladies-man; so why not?! Actually, last week we met some friends in New York City for a stroll along the river, dinner at a tasty place, Afghan Kebob, and probably the most delicious cheesecake I have ever tasted at Carnegie Deli. They have a little girl who is about 5 months older than Link and they just had a ball together.
Although it looks like they are bowing down to us, or doing some intricate baby-yoga, they are actually checking out a bug on the ground.
They sat next to each other at the Deli and were cracking each other up. What little sillies!

Mother's Helper
I made rolls from scratch this Sunday and as I was rolling out the dough Lincoln was trying as hard as he could to get on his tip-toes and see what I was doing on the counter. We pulled up a little chair, gave him some dough and he went to work! He really loved pounding, rolling, and of course, eating the dough. Maybe some PlayDough will be an upcoming activity??
